Community Life

Over 200 formally organized local groups are active in social, cultural and community service programs. Service groups include the Stanwood Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, American Legion, Lions and Rotary. Culturally, the Camwood Players present theatre productions several times a year. Sky Theatre features theatre productions for children. The community Choir sings a major classical choral work at least once a year.

There are many local artists working in mediums of paint, pottery, glass, photography and wood. Nearby, the world-famous Piluchuck Glass School, started by Dale Chihuly draws students from around the world each summer. (360) 445-3111.
